The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
